a hollowed out cat will only hurt performance. And theres no reason not to run a cat. Get a high flow cat or at least a "test pipe"

And OBD1

Heh, that's a good one.

Indeed, with an OBD2+ vehicle, doing something like that will grab a CEL. Do like the others stated, O2 simulator and/or test pipe.

i assumed hollowing out the cat was basically the same thing as putting a test pipe on ?

I thought the same thing. I mean, wouldnt a hollowed cat be just like a pipe, but with the looks of a cat? Cuz if I run a test pipe and a cop decides to do a random look under the hood and under the car, hes gonna noticed no cat. *shrug*

well you need a cat for the visual part of inspection too in PA. will my car pass edmissions with this obd2? because what i had planned on doing is going to a part store when it is time for inspection and just buy a cat and throw it on, then when i pass i planned on taking the cat back..
