SRS Warning Light?
I have a new RSX, less than 3 weeks old and I just noticed that the SRS airbag warning light on the dash is staying on while im driving. anyone else have this problem? any suggestions on what might be causing this before I bring it to Acura?
Thanks

yeah actually i just did put two 15" red neon accent lights under the dash to match the guages and all yesterday. just used the cigarette lighter adapters for em. will they just set off the light or do they interfere with the airbags functionality?
Your Neon lights should not make your SRS light come on. (Especially if you have tham plugged into the lighter socket.) Are you sure you didn't damage any wires under the dash during the installation? I.E. Running a screw through the dash etc.
If not take it to the dealer and get it checked out.

I didnt use any screws while installing it. I used stick on velcro to attach it under the dash and didnt wire anything. Acura is checking it out next wednesday
punk, this is what i have been told by Acura dealerships .. 2 of them actually...
"The emf generated by the neon sets off the passenger side seat sensor." meaning that the SRS sytem de-activates, and the SRS warning light comes on. I had the same exact situation as pred, and since they reset it on their diag pc, the light hasnt come back on.
So far every rsx -base, or S owner i know with neons, has seen the light turn on.
... by the way .. whens the wedding? and how are things coming along? havent seen you guys post in a while ...

Does it say Side SRS Off in yellow because if it does the passenger seat has sensors in it that tell the computer how you are positioned in the seat so if your in an impact the air bag won't blow your arm off if your sitting in the seat the wrong way. Unless the light just says SRS then maybe you should head on down to the dealer. Hope I helped

Well now the warning light is off, even with the neons under the dash. Everything is working fine now. I don't think it was the neons that triggered it.
the neons actually look real good where they are. ill take pics and post em on here soon. i got em in red to match the guages at night and everything goes together real well and it looks really good.
