Autopage RF-410 Alarm...any good :searched, nada:
I was thinking about getting this alarm...the Clifford G5 (750) is a little pricey for me right now. If the Clifford is a lot better I'll save up for it, but I have no clue. I know that a big part of security is the installation of the product.

The place I was talking to about installing it wants to charge $250 for the alarm and install. It seems kinda steep seeing as I found the alarm for sale online at around $60. I'm an alarm noob so please help a brutha out.

All I can tell you is, you get what you pay for, what you should look for is,
1- stick with the brand names, [you already have]
2- find out what the warranty is, how long, on what, and is it over the counter .
3-how is the install done, soldered connections? will they remove all the unused wires of the alarm, [depinning]? will the alarm and it's wiring be hidden? will it be servicable, [without removing the whole dash]
4- if you have a problem, will they lock and fix it right away, [so you don't have to drive around with an alarm that doesn't work.
These are all things we do at our shop, and should be a minimum, for the extra that you have to pay at a retail outlet
