If I were to take my cams and line up the hole in the cam and put a dowel in them to lock them, would this be considered tdc for the cams?? What I am trying to figure out is if I take the cams lock them down through that hole in the cam, loosen the sprocket and turn the crank to tdc would that be considered the same as degreeing tha cams somewhat??
not exactly sure what you want to do, but those holes are TDC you can lock them that way for when you put the timing belt on or whatever, just be careful stuff snaps in there with pressure.

basically my question is when I go to do the timing, if everything lines up then my timing is fine right?? I have stage 2 cams with built head for gsr and just trying to gather some more info for when i put it together. I put it on last time and I bent some valves b/c my head is milled too much and I'm trying to figure out what I need to do to get it right this time around. I am doin a piston to valve clearance check this time around but im sure im either goin to need a bigger head gasket, unless i can somehow advance/retard the cams a certain way to balance that out. Im being told I need to degree the cams to get it right but i don't know anyone that has had to do that for the application im doin, or anyone that has a degree wheel at that. does anyone know what I need to do to stop the valves from hitting the piston??
