Default Launching on 24x8x13 slicks

At the last race at the track my best time was 13.2 on gsr rims. Speed was at 107 mph. I was launching at 3000 rpm with no traction wheel hop from left to right. But i have slicks now and planning to back to the track. How high should i rev it up to?

yeah that's how you do...

I've been running 6 psi tire pressure, and dumping the clutch at 7500 rpm. I just have to remeber to keep both hands on the wheels when launching.

well I launch between 8000-9000rpm depending on the day and my mood. I ran 1.55-1.61 60fts all day with 24.5-9-13's, stock axles, 6psi in the tyres, no bead locks, no wheelie bars and about 230whp all motor and a 1800lb track weight

best 60' i ever got was 1.7 sec.

I do a 2nd gear burnout in the water box. I just drop the clutch at about 7000 rpm's and let it go to red line and back off a bit then give it gas again to red line.

yes you have to raise the car to fit the 24.5x9x13. I have to raise mine about two inches, to fit the sliks. Not hard when you have coilovers.

Damm, I wish I could put down those 60's. I average low 1.7's. I'd be really happy with 1.6's.

Default Re: Launching on 24x8x13 slicks (TurboChrgd_Civic)

I guess thats the beauty of N/A. Although I run on the theory that wheelspin in 1st doesnt matter the minute the shift light glows the cars in 2nd which is almost bang on the 60ft mark. I started off running 1.8 60fts then slowly came to the decision that the faster I got out of 1st the faster I was going so I just started launching higher which means I don't drop below about 6500rpm during launching but it also saw my 60fts drop, although the change from 230-270whp saw some minor wheelspin in 2nd.
I have also just put wheel bars on my car and changed my rear spring rates etc to try and drop my 60fts into the low 1.4's if not better. I will post up results and pics of my set-up once I have done some runs and got some testing done. But the testing done the back streets we have done so-far looks promising..

i leave the line between 5300 and 5600rpm (stock axles) building 12-13psi of boost off the 2 step (electromoitve tec III) 60's range between 1.60-1.66.
