Idle question... 94 LS
Recently my idle has dropped a couple hundred RPMs from about 750 to 500... and occassionally dipping below even that. Well, I figured, no problem, I'll just give the adjustment screw a little turn and fix the problem... well.... what I could have sworn was the idle adjustment screw doesn't seem to be affecting the RPMs at all... and I've cranked the thing out (counter-clockwise) 5-6 full turns....
All that happens is the whistle coming from my intake seems to get more noticeable... which leads me to believe that the screw I am turning is actually the air flow adjustment screw....
The problem? Well, I see no other screws on the throttle body.... so where the heck is the idle adjustment?
A related question.... since my timing was recently adjusted to factory specs a few months ago (16 degrees) at 750 +- 50 rpm, could this be what is affecting my fuel economy now that my idle has dropped off? I'm getting about 50 miles less per tank than I was a month ago, before my idle dropped off.....
