Default NA Questions

ok, so after considering everything, id really like to go all motor, cause i mean really, its just bad ***. im not planning on going too crazy, i wanna drive it everyday, but my question was, what should i do. I was thinking of pretty much everything, cams(with cam gears and valves and springs) pistons, rods, stuff like that. i also have a VAFC, but i think i might as well go AEM EMS or GReddy EManage. i dont know, if anyone can help and give me advice as to how to go with a reliable all motor set up, id appreciate it, thanks

if you are going to do internal motor work its going to COST more than 2-5k.

try more like 8-10K.

even if you just get intake, header, exhaust w/ AEM it would cost more than 5k plus tunning.

but it is possible to make 240 whp with just that.

lol...with a range like $2,000-$5,000, it sounds to me like you need to think about this a little bit more. Not that that amount of money isnt enough, but its a LARGE range, you can do ALOT more for $5,000 than you can with $2,000...n/a wise though, expect to spend alot more to make the kind of power i think you have in mind.

I think that if your budget is around 5k, you might get more power from a S/C than going NA. Unless you defenitly want to go NA and tha's it. But for me the S/C will make you run faster and is just a bolt-on-kit.

Good luck!!

Get rear gears, yellow box(speedo correction) and reinforced differential. Probably ~ $1400 after labor. 4.44 , 4.57, 4.77 are your main choices. 4.57 would make your car about .4 secs faster in the 1/4 mile. One the track though it depends on how its layed out if you will be faster or not. Sometimes gears can be a disadvantage in autox.

I would go with this advice. In fact if I ever modded my S2K it would be with the Rick's 4.57 gears. Right now my project car is the Civic, so I don't have any money for the S.

I agree. $1200 is too much. I would just look into the K&N FIPK.

everyone says heatsoak...but everyone running it says they feel a gain and have no signs of heat soak...

cheaper route but it works:

intake = comptech
header = j's or spoon
exhaust = t1r 70mm (whenever it comes out)

those there add up to about 2200-2300

get AEM EMS + Tuning. spend rest of gears
