Whats the difference between a regular short shifter and dual bend short shifter? Which is a better shifter: B&M or Skunk2? The Skunk2 is the dual bend.

 

not sure about the difference between and dual and a single bend but i have a single bend skunk2 and i love it it has little throw and its very smooth.. i also have a friend who runs a B&M one and hes also very satisfied..they are both very good companies so i guess whichever one u can find cheaper go with that

I have a skunk 2 dual bend while my friend has a skunk 2 single bend... the difference = with the dual bend, it puts the positioning/direction/angle of the shifter closer to the driver

Well said. BTW I have both the B&M and skunk2 dual bend. The skunk2 dual bend position feels better since it sits closer to the driver without needing to reach out. With the B&M shifter I had to reach out a little to grab the shift ****.

yes but then its just a short shifter not a short throw shifter

 

my opinion short shifters suck, please dont cut yours just leave it alone, i find the stock one to be more comfortable

dimi's shifter does shorten the throws

im pretty happy with my $10 one from ebay.....have had it for a year now and it hasn't broke. little rougher shifts though

B&M Short Throw. Check my How-To on the B&M install. Definitely shortened the throw by 1.5"-2" depending on gear selection. Dropped the height a couple inches. Mate it with Energy Suspension shifter bushings. Love it.

 

Well you get what you pay for

 

the s2 and the b&m are both really great products in my opinion. the dual bend sits at a different angle than the standard ss.
also try locating a gsr or itr shifter. best shifters ever made!

Will they fit with no modafication?

 

I beleive the linkage will need bent outward where the shifter goes with a GSR. I think a bushing upgrade is all you need for a good feeling shift. You can only shift so fast before you crunch your syncros anyway.

Yah, after swapping my my b18c1 swap. I've had no urge to get a short shifter. The gsr shifter plus gsr **** almost feels like a short shifter. I'm not a fan of short shifters anywa.s

 

i have an evasive motorsports shifter with energy bushings and it feels so nice, sits nice and low and the shifts are really short.

my other shifter (ebay)....got busted in a hard shift from 2nd to 3rd. blew the bearings right out...

now tell me that it isn't a shorter distance between c&d as it is between a&b cutting it wouldn't shorten the idstance required for shifting

 

hmm sorry to burst your bubbles mr. dick but it isn't the length of where the shift **** goes to the one that affects the shifting travel... why don't you cut your stock shift **** as I had in the past thinking that the travel would be shorter? It's actually the length below the ball that affects the shifting travel... why do you think some short shifters hit the exhaust? coz the length at the bottom becomes longer thus shortening the throws of the linkage from syncro to syncro

The B&M is incredible with good bushings (the $100 one that is).

You'd be surprised, my $50 B&M one is quite nice and a good amount shorter. You'll be surprised how fast I can shift my D15B7 n0n-vT@k DX tr4nNy. m4d p0w3r sHifTiNg! J/K.
