A 35mm offset on and 8" wide wheel will stick a long way out on a 4th, 5th or 6th gen. civic. I'll be attempting to squeeze a set of 16x8 50mm offset rx7 wheels on my '94 hatch(will be 5 lug) with a 7mm spacer(effectively a 43 offset). We'll see. Regardless, you'll be rolling some flanges all the way around depending on the tire.

1- flanges, meaning the 1/2-3/4 inch turned in area on the fender and 1/4 panel sheetmetal in/around the wheel openings.

2- By stating "I'll be attempting..." usually means the task has not been accomplished. Consequenly, there are no photos yet.

3- spacers mount between the wheel and the brake rotor or wheel hub. They move the wheel outward from the centerline of the car effectively reducing offset in the wheel.

I'm not sure how to be much clearer.
