i am thinking about purchasing some stereo equpiment on ebay. they have ton of feedback, around 40,000 and have a satisfactory rank of 99.2 percent.

but the thing that gets me a bit uneasy is that the price is just so good, (ebay sellers store is called "finest deals") see i want to purchase the alpine spx-117r 6.5 component sets, basically their type x speakers which are top of the line. my alpine dealer here in utah said the best deal he can get me is $400.00 but that store on ebay sells them for $220.00.

they said no re-furbish, no used, and box has never been opened. so my thing is, do you any of you guys know how a stereo company can sell speakers like that for so cheap. and if you any of you guys have bought anything off from that ebay store or whatever let me know. thanks.

 

They sell them very much near cost. They know that they're not going to be selling speakers to a guy 1000 miles away under ordinary conditions, so they eat their "losses," and get extra business. I bought my Diamonds like that and didn't have too much trouble...one tweeter messed up a bit, but I'm going to send that back in to have warranty take care of it.
