Ever since I replaced my bent valves, my car is using a lot of oil. I replaced them about 1000 miles ago, and the car has used about 3qts of oil since then. The car is running fine, and there are no oil leaks. Is this normal for new valves, or is there a problem?

Is this something that needs attention ASAP, or could I hold off for 3-4 weeks with out hurting the car's life or performance... assuming I keep monitoring the oil.
