Default popping noise when car jerks

sometimes if i dont smoothly shift at a low RPM the car of course jerks like anyother car, but then it makes a popping noise or a clicking noise. it sounds like the noise you make when u put ur tongue on the roof of ur mouth and pop it, i thought iw would be either the axel or a motor mount, can any of you help me out with this problem. AIM mike banx
thank you

It is hard to tell what it might be but axle and motor mount are the two things that popped to my mind as well although there are a number of potential noise makers in the driveline and suspension.

If you can, try to see if you can do it repeatedly and see if it comes from one side or the otehr , or the engine bay, etc. I think you will likely find that that something is somehow loose or broken and loose as unrestrained motion is the source of most pops, clunks, etc. Try to audibly locate it then just dive in and start looking for anything allowing improper motion.

I had a clicking noise on my ITR when jerking forward or back. Took me about a month to find it. Turns out it was just the keys on my keyring. Now I don't worry about weird noises.
