Some vids from the Corvette Club autocross on Sunday.

Took FTD both morning and afternoon heats
Some cool cars showed up though. Dodge Viper, Volvo S60R, supercharged Mustang... and of course my 100hp/95ft/lb torque MONSTER!
People asked me where the supercharger or turbo is or if I did a swap to the car, they were all surprised when I told them it was the stock D16 motor
:D

hehe... there was a mustang at our event yesterday that was wondering why the civics were beating him by 14 seconds...
good driving mike. how sore/tired are your arms? i'm guessing your passenger had to go change his shorts after the run was over.
that course was HORRIBLE. not much you could do with that lot though. any close calls with so much stuff well inside the SCCA's 25', 50', and 75' requirements?
nate - would only run at a place like that if there was no where else to drive

Actually not too bad. I'm a self employed TaeKwon-Do instructor teaching 4 nights a week (3 times a night) so my upper body is pretty fit.
The passenger was pretty cool. He had a Probe GT with just a test pipe and exhaust and it sounded pretty nice. But he asked me to help him figure out where he could make up time. He was in the 57s. After a ride with me he dipped down into the 51s I believe. He didn't realize a car could brake that deep (going down the hill).
Yeah that course is very limited with what you can do. Very narrow, but yet it's only 5 minutes from my house and if you are not a Corvette owner you just chill out all day and relax - no working requirements. They also follow NCCC rules (not affiliated with SCCA) and yes there have been some CLOSE calls there and at other lots.
Yesterday a guy forgot to slow down after the finish line and got a little sideways. About 50' after the finish were cars parked - DOH! Also the spectators are literally right there on course probably about 20' from the one section (just before you hear the guy say "OH!").

I've been racing my father's '99 hardtop the last few years with the NCCC, and I must say that's one of the smaller courses I've seen. Which is good for the honda, not soo good for the Corvettes...
But you guys were talking about how the rules are very relaxed, and a lot of the obstacles are a lot closer than SCCA events. Last year, I watched a Cornhusker CC member lose it coming out of a slalom, and hit these guardrail type deals that were positioned probably 30ft from the slalom. Airbags deployed, the car looked pretty bad.
The year before here at a Cedar Rapids event, a good friend of mine rolled his '03 Z06 on it's top.
Corvette club events are an absolute blast, I enjoy them a LOT more than the SCCA events, but it can be costly. Basically with the Corvette club, it comes down to who has the bigger *****. A "low speed" event is considered under 80mph, though last year's convention low speed event (at Las Vegas Motor Speedway) I saw the top of 3rd gear in our stock C5. I can't imagine what the modded cars were running.
Anyways, glad you had fun!

Nice driving!! Car sounds good too, although what is up with the farmers market parking lot? Is there people shopping while you are racing? That is just what the building looks like as you go flying by it
That is a farmer's market. WELCOME TO LANCASTER PA!
Those are spectators watching us run. The only thing open there was the bathrooms and I think the ice cream shop

Awesome, although I don't care for auto Xing around light poles and trees after seeing that one driver lose control and smack the crap out of the tree.

Did you read the above posts about the course and the club that runs it?
I've been running with them for 7 years now and only seen one close call.
