Default Running ITB in cold winter?

Hello all. I was discussing on D16 tuning over the weekend with a friend and ITB came into mind. Then he brought up the issue of the cold winter air coming directly into the runnings will freezing cold and such it is not good to run it in the winter.

Any ITB users running their engine in winter? Like below 20C degree temp.?

Thanks

So the cold air brings in too much moisture cause the air is danser in winter, how about make a box that cover up the runners, then run the tube like you would run the short ram intake, use the engine heat to warm up the air.

Just looking for ideas for future modifications.

well i havent had mine on long enough (im 2 hours north of T.O) but they run fine when its close to zero out ...the only problem i could see is things getting to cold from the flowing air ..but with itbs being that closet to the head heat transfer "should" be enough to keep them from frezzing up...they might be a little stiff in the mornigs and will take longer to warm up but should be ok once its all ready to drive

I see. That's what I thought that the heat inside the engine bay should be somewhat warm, once it is warmed up that is.

So you haven't driven the car with ITB set up in below zero condition?

Thanks
