I usually run a junkyard tranny cooler or oil cooler. I run it inline on my turbo feed line. Usually in between the engine and turbo.

I run a Setrab 19 row cooler with remote oil filter mount. The remote mount allows me to run the oil pressue and oil temp senders. See pictures if my sig. I think there's one in there showing the filter mount.

See thats your option. That red crx guy used the remote mount style, so its not going to have a sandwich adapter on the back. I have never seen a sandwich adapter in conjunction with a remote filter. Usually the point of a sandwich is to retain the original location of the oil filter (no relocating). I have used the sandwich adapter and i didnt like it (on my B series it was a bitch to route the hose and was way to cramped). I think remote style is better and comes with the extra spots for gauge senders, as already stated.

I think Greddy makes sandwich style that comes with sender locations, but is not used for oil coolers, it just makes it easy to hook up gauges and what not.

If you get a radiator off a automatic ef, you could probably use the atf cooler as an oil cooler. Just a thought.

What are you talking about? Are you talking about the water-to-oil oil cooler on the 1st gen b16's and the 1994 GSR's?

From what I understand (after working on many DOHC's of a variety of years), the only honda DOHC engines that had the factory water-to-oil oil cooler were the 1st gen (jdm) b16's, the 1994 (only '94) GSR's, and the Integra Type R's (b18c5's).

I know that they weren't in the 2nd gen and newer b16's and they weren't in the 95 and newer GSR's (usdm of course).

OHHHHHHHHH, It didnt show the Adapter or whatever to run off of the Oil shizle in the back. Im guessing its NOT a sandwitch, it uses 2 adapters, one to replace the oil filters stock location, and another for the remote filter. What kit did you guys use? I dont really want to spend 600 dollers. 150 would be optimal.

I started out using a sandwich adapter with inline thermostat. I ripped it all out and am going to run the relocation kit and the thermostat again.

For about 100$, B&M makes a kit that would suit that price range.

After searching a little bit, Found some Relocation kits, Oil Cooler kits, Its about 150-200 for a good kit. I can peice one together for about 160. And I found dual Oil Filter Relocation kits.

Do you think it would be over kill to run dual filters, and a cooler?? Do you think the oil Pump will keep up with the 2 filters???

Add DOHC ZC and D16A8/A9 to that list, also.

I wouldnt run dual filters for a few reasons. Space is a concern and so is oil psi loss. You are already gonna see a small loss of max oil psi (if u use a gauge and monitor before and after the install) with the addition of a cooler and all the lines and stuff. I cant recall the exact loss because i did this such a long time ago. What products were u looking at, what websites and such? This thread could help others trying to do the same thing.

About the factory oil cooler, i will be taking mine out along with all the associated coolant hoses and stuff when i redo my cooler set up. I feel there is no need for it and it would clean up the back of the block. I already have all the stuff from a new B16 (water pipe, block plugs, etc.) to do the removal correctly.

I priced it out on summit a while back, and using Earl's SS lines and AN fittings, it came to ~$250 for a big cooler and filter relocation thing. You could probably do it for around $150 with a smaller cooler, non-ss lines, and no filter relocation. What's good about the filter relocation is that it uses the big-*** filters you'd expect on a V8, which leads to less pressure drop in the oil system. The second plus is that you can get a filter relocator with four in/outlets, meaning you can put two sensors or two oil feeds - perfect for a turbo'd car. Honestly though, that's the only reason I'd do a cooler, is with a turbo.
