Default 2nd and 3rd gen, Hoods

I was wondering if I removed my hood from my 87 prelude you know the second generation front ends with the grill.. and swaped it with the front end on my 89 parts car.. I seem to like the look of the no grill front end... could it be swaped??? anybody done this??

it would take some work, but you might be able to do it. you will need to measure the hoods in all directions to see if they are the same size. then you will need to take the brackets and hood latch assembly from the 89 and put them on the 87. the hood to your 87 should open backwards right? and the 89 opens like every other car. you would have to remove the hinges and latch assembly from the 87 so they are not in the way.

Thanks for the help... I think when it stops snowing out I'll go look and see about the hood conversion... I don't know how likely it will be but maybe it will fit... to me the 89 looks a bit wider so i don't know... But I'll see and when I find out I'll let ya know...
Thanks again

Will not fit. but you can get univesal hood scoops for it and it's easy to put on. try the hood from a 86 accord that should fit.

the 86 accord has a very similar opening in the front. honestly, i think you would be better to leave the opening there. my 85 seems to be a high temp engine and even though the fans and everything work great, i think if the air flow were cut down, it would run at a higher temp. i think you should just leave it.
