Engine noise at 65+ MPH
Hello all... I have a 2000 Prelude with 95,000k miles on it. I just started experiencing a noise from the engine that sounds like a low-mid pitch moaning only when in excess of speeds of 65mph. I assume something is rubbing, grinding? I did have new front brake pads put in about 1-2 months ago... what do you guys think? Brakes? Belts? any other ideas?
Thanks for the help...
Thanks for the help...
Do you hear the noise if you push in the clutch so that you are just coasting? Do you hear it if you are stopped and you rev the engine?
Where does the noise sound like it's coming from? Do you notice any other symptoms?

Hi Sephro... thanks for the reply. The noise appears to be coming from the front of the car... can't be anymore specific than that. It only happens when the car is moving at high speeds, and doesn't occur at a specific RPM, while revving, or have anything to do with the clutch being engaged/disengaged.
Thanks!
Thanks!
My friend just had this happen to his maxima and it ended up being the internal grounding of his newly bought pioneer headunit..it sounded like a whining noise which only occured during harsh acceleration or high speeds
