I have a JDM ZC SOHC VTEC
The head says it is a 93 and it says p08

I looked up p08 and that is a d15b code

Does this mean my car is a 1.5l
because i was told when i bought it that it was a 1.6l

They said it was a jdm version of the d16z6, and that the jdm version had a more aggressive cam.

Is there any way i can find out what the engine is 1.5 or 1.6

 

the D15B is the "JDM version" of our D16Z6, it just has .1 fewer liters and a more aggressive cam. Same appx. power output, though. No worries .

 

Ive heard of teh d15b7 or sumthin like that. ITs true, the JDM d15 is a lot better than our d16 (someone correct me if Im wrong). It supposed to get like over 130 hp or something, its almost like an LS without the torque, if you REALLY got that engine, your lucky, take a picture of the engine code on the front of the tranny for us and of the engine.

 

so if i put the zc head on the old block it would be even more powerful

 

The block says ZC on it and that is it

i just bought a jdm d15b vtec and from what ive heard its better then the z6.

cause i have a head and it has P08 stamped on it..

 

PO8 is the code of the head, the PO8 head from my understanding is shared with the D16Z6, SOHC ZC Vtec (which is the one you have, 1.6), and the D15b.

 

they do have a jdm zc vtec and it is a 1.6 supposed to be atleast a 140hp i just went ahead and got a d15b vtec for my coupe becuase i didnt have the money for the zc vtec

SOHC ZCs, and D15B max at 130PS OEM, which is 128hp.

D15B7 is the 102hp DX/LX motor. The 128hp D15B vtec is just a hair (3hp) more powerful than the US D16Z6.

 

For the D15b7 motors, I see them all marked as saying ~100HP? Am I mistaking it for the non-VTEC version?

 

It is a non vtec 1.5L.

 

no u have it backwards the d15b is 130hp and the d16z6 is 126-127 and the d16y8 is 128

No It isnt can you see the vtec Sensor
I did say vtec on the valve cover but i shaved it off

 

i heard that the jdm version put out close to 35 more hp than the D16z6 but thats what i heard so its not a true fact im not sure

 

actualy, the d15b is not the JDM version of the d16z6. The jdm version of the d16z6 is the D16A, its the same exact motor as the the d16z6, just with a different stamp on it.

The d15b and the d16z6 are close though...

 

There is NO zc vtec.
Check your engine code,it sounds like you have a d15b which is a JDM motor and is vtec.If it is a Zc it will be stamped Zc.If it is a d15 it will be stamped d15

 

My Block says ZC and it has vtec

Yes there is a ZC sohc vtec
from 92-95 they made them in Japan
You might be thinking of the old crx ZC motor that are not vtec

yup, hes right
