Does anyone who attended the Rolex 24 @ Daytona this past weekend have pics yet?

LOL yeah I know, but my biggest prob w/digi in this situation was that the batteries wouldn't last long enough for a 24 hour race. Also, I still like to have prints in hand for blowup/framing purposes.

I had a great time at the race. I am still feeling the effects of very few hours of sleep. I will go again next year. I suggest everyone attend this event at least once in their life time. Just one word of advice.... never leave your cooler full of beverages unattended, they seem to grow legs when you least expect it.

I like this one - the "Porschehaus-Sponsored LOLA NISSAN . . . and it is in the old Porsche GTP color scheme. Can you say identity crisis? Doesn't Porsche have a WSC car now?
Hey Drew, that is an SRPII-class car (aka 'WSC Lights' or 'LMP675') where the Nissan motor does very well but no Porsche motor that I know of is legal. I'm told that the new class is by far the cheapest way to go Prototype racing competitively...
There is no official Porsche prototype car, but there was one Porsche-powered SRP (aka 'WSC' or 'LMP') car there this past weekend... the #38 Lola from Champion Racing in FL (they also have an Audi R8 with the same color scheme for ALMS duty).

I have to take out some money from the bank to pay for my rolls. I got some great pics and some shutter speeds are a little slow but over all I've got few winners!!
Maybe thurs or friday!!

I was only commenting because it was a Porsche business sponsored car in the old factory Porsche colors but nothing about the car is Porsche.
Cobra - Who would kill to drive ANY LMP/WSC/Lights car

Gotcha. Similarly, G&W Motorsports (based out of VIR and one of the hottest Porsche teams of the last few years) was there with a BMW-powered Picchio SRPII car instead of their usual herd of 911's... Could it be possible that Grand-Am SRPII is cheaper/better than Grand-Am GT - ???
Jon
who is intrigued by the politics of pro racing

a friend's dad drove this car, second in class, 6th or 7th overall (cant recall). his name is Brian DeVries
he has some amazing cars in his garage to say the least (Nissan GTP, Intrepid GTP, RUF 911, 275 GTB *i think thats what it is*, to name a few)

It is a 917, but you must be more specific to WIN.
Here's a front view of the same 900+ hp monster:

And a closeup of those same big turbos:

And speaking of big turbos, who can name this one too (same lineage but newer):

And here's the size of that thing relative to SoloSol's melon:

Okay! No more for me until I can link to the completed page on my site.
Back to work,
Jon
