Have a D16 tranny with VIN...can anyone confirm model?
I'm trying to figure out if this tranny i'm going to pick up is an SI/DX/CX?
Thanks guys...i've searched but theres a lot of confusing info on these tranny's
Tag on Bell Lip/Flange: S40-2064590

im gonna help you out since we have the same name there is a stamp on the transmission by where the fill plug is its a circle with a line through it if it says p20 a000 its a dx/lx tranny if it says p20 b000 its a si/ex tranny. this is the only way to tell for the 92-95 trannies without taking it apart on the 96+ trannies it has a different top number but if it says b000 its a si/ex so almost the same. dont look for s20 because ive personaly taken out a lx tranny that said s20 and replaced it with a y8 tranny this is how i know.
