WTH??? Please help
In the morning I'll crank my car and it will idle ~1500 for a sec then the idle drop low to where it's trying to kill itself. So I'll start to drive off and it starts to jerk/buck real hard! To onlookers it looks like I'm a first timer at driving a stick. So embarrassing. Anyways, I will br cruising along in 5th gear and when I go to floor it, it has a real bad surge. The other day it started to have spikes in the powerband....around ~4K it will surge then ~5K it has a sudden jump in power. Almost like it's getting rammed in the rear. This is getting on my nerves.
I do have a minor exhaust leak where the welds on my cat blew......could that cause it? I put the Iridium plugs in not too long ago (~3500 miles). I have a CEL but only b/c my speedo cable went out. (that should be here this week). I have yet to try that Seafoam that was posted not to long ago. I also replaced my IACV about 2-months ago. I'm just really confused. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Well I have changed out my 02 sensor, IACV, plug wires, cap and rotor. The problem still exists. This is just driving me insane each day I drive the car. I'm so sick of putting money in the damn thing and have nothing solved. Anyone else have a clue?? I was curious if maybe my TPS was goin' out but could that cause it to surge also? I wouldnt think so but maybe it's possible?!

check grounds. a bad ground can cause that. check them all. also you have your plug wires in the right order right? and no the welds on the cat is ok. it will just make your car sound like ****. lol. the seafoam might help but i dont think it would do it all. and if all that turns out fine and the problem is still there it might be your dizzy. sry man hope this helps a little bit.
k well I'm goin' to buy some wires, dizzy and such cause Im sure it could use a tune up. I do have one question though. when I buy a dizzy do I buy it for what OBD or what year the motor is. Like do I need to purchase one for a 92 teg or 98 B20?
Change out your fuel filter while you are at it. Alot of people forget the small stuff.
When you change it and have drained all of the gas out of the filter try to blow though it. If it takes alot then its was about due to change

what motor do you have. its a B20 in a 92 teg? yea get the part number on it right now and just use the same part number. i believe obd1 and obd2 dizzys are interchangable. but only from non vtec to non vtec. but i have a b20 in my car and have a ls dizzy on it.
so sounds like an O2 sensor, they will do the exact same thing to a car when they die... but i would check cap, rotor, plugs, and wires before the distributor... cause ignitiors are either working or not working, i've never seen one work half assed. and i have also been informed upon this when i was trying to get my first DA running... i personally would replace the tune up parts and an O2 before a distributor...
yeah I'm sure a MAJOR tune would help. well after graduation I will get my car fixed and alot of stuff for my car with money I recieved......rims, hood, etc. But anyways, so I should get another IACV, O2, and wires, caps and my exhaust leak fixed?! The list never ends. I fixed one thing and another adds to it. Thanks everybody for your help.
