Today i was checking out my buddies EG hatch and he was telling me about the suspension setup (he just got the car)....So i squat down in the back to check it out and he had KYB GR2's and Skunk2 coilovers. Which is a little too stiff for my taste but anyways...ILL MOVE ON....But i notice, that the rear "cup" on the rear struts have been cut in half. Im talking about the cup shapped item on the strut that the coilover sleeve sits into on the rear. It looked like it had been cut to allow more adjustability or something. I showed it to him and he got upset. So i thought i would ask on here, is that going to hurt his suspension in anyway in the rear? The car is low but not all the way down. Please help me out so i can help him out. Thanks alot H-T memebers.

No its there, its just been trimmed kinda. The sleeve still sits in there and the cup is still welded to the strut/shock assembley, it just looks like the previous owner cut the "original spring support cup" so that the coilovers could have more adjustability......Hope that helps, casue i know i need it....Help me out fellas

Now do you see the Tea Cup shapped item in the middle of the strut closest to you? Thats what is cut, the sleeve sits in there secure its just been cut in half. Is that OK?
