MPFI/Z6 swap.....CEL code 8 help
Alright guys
Over the weekend Ive been doing an MPFI swap/D16Z6 swap on my 90 CRX DX. I have everything in and working but I keep getting a CEL of code 8.
Through the research I have done, normally this is caused by one of a few things.
1. Wires switched up
2. TDC Sensor dead in Dizzy
3. Timing way off (belt or ignition i think)
To my knowledge the wiring is correct. I followed some instructions I looked up here as far as wiring the MPFI and I didnt run into any problems with anything else. I also pulled the harness out and checked continuity from the ECU harness to the dizzy and ive got it on both wires (blue/yellow and blue/green)
As far as the distributor's age goes, that is not in question either (or it sh ouldnt be) I just picked it up the other day and its BRAND new never used. Dont see what should be wrong there.
Finally as far as timing goes, I notched the Dizzy accordingly, jumped the service connector, and then set the timing to 16 degrees. The car is still idling crappy and doesnt really have any *****. Most likely this is because the car is dumping to much fuel in
Anywyas, if anyone has any other suggestions I'd greatly appreciate it. I'm 60 miles from home and have been all weekend doing this swap (swapped my old motor into another DX this weekend as well) I'm tired and ready to go home, but this code 8 is pissing me off
