Default Moving from Acura to Mazda?

hey whats up guys,

I currently own an 87 integra ls,
It's awsome,
I had many plans for it,

But I am also very interested in the Mazda RX-7

My Dad's friend is in a team, they have a drag rx-7, track rx-7 etc....
He is always bringing a newone over every week

A few days ago he brought over a Twin Turbo RX-7
That he got a few weeks ago

I am thinking about leaving the Honda/Acura scene and joingin the
Rx-7's

Here is the RX-7 I am thinking about buying
86 RX-7 GXL

$250 W/blown motor
Just a reason to get a built 13B or higher.

What you guys think?

pssh ls1. you can try to do a TII swap. its pretty much uncommon to Turbo a N/A because of many factors. you should go to http://www.rx7club.com for more info.

The car looks clean and straight from that pic. I say go for it, but prepair to spend a lot of cash to do a TII swap right.

Yeah, but with an LS1 his car will be the same weight, make a lot more power and torque, have the ability to make a lot more power and torque, and actually be reliable!

Need I mention that at the PGD's an LS1 RX7 went 9.4's, all on good 'ol 93 octane swill? Next time your 13B does that, write me a letter

Bleh, the amount of money you'll have to spend to make that thing worthwhile wouldn't be worth it to me to be driving in a rolling grenade. A HS buddy of mine had a TII and it caught fire...........twice and was nothing but a pain in the ***. It's cool if you have a daily and you can afford to have it laid up while you fix the **** that can and will break on it. Otherwise get away from that thing. My .02.

Edit: Not to mention that's a hideous color and already has a blown motor. Why not buy something that atleast runs?

you really know nothing about rotary's, do you.......a blown motor is a good thing when the shell is in good shape.....that way you can make sure theres a clean swap, or a well done rebuild, considering those motors (especially the turbos) dont live past 100K very often....

but you WILL need a second car even when the proiject is up and running

i say look for a 20b out of a cosmo

N/As live well pass 100k, its the FD that doesnt work well over 100k. i say stick with the N/A 13B, more reliable.

If you want educated opinions you should post this on an RX7 forum.
