when do you need to shave rocker arms?

Default when do you need to shave rocker arms?

I've read that there are instances where the rocker arm will hit the retainers, so you have to shave it to create clearance. what stage of cams cause this problem, or rather how big of a lift causes this?

over .500 lift. Alot of cam companys CLAIM .500 lift but hard to believe cause the LMA will only do so much. And thats where this comes in play if u want alot of lift
