Default Help here!

The project is to build a 8 psi setup, on a D16 with D16Z6's head and intake manifold. For the exhaust I'll use D15B8's stock ex manifold. I thought about using LS rods, but depends on the block I get and if it's already built or not. Uberdata for tuning.

Any well tuned base map on a setup like this one?
Any help? Experiences to tell, etc!
If I use LS rods (that's mean I build the engine), what pistons should I use? (no money for forged).

Thanks in advance.

what turbo is gonna be used? for the d16z6 (stock block) i recommend any t3 .48/.60 turbo, its gotta be the best for any motor putting out 100-150 before boost. also, if the z6 is in healthy condition, it should handle a good 230whp (which is usually around 11-12psi from that turbo) with a good tune. if your planning on making alot more hp then go ahead and build the motor. people usually mate vitara pistons to ls rods (i think) and also requires custom fabrication to make this happen. visit homemadeturbo.com

I thought about using TD04 or something. Not sure about the name but it's the one that comes in 1G Eclipses if I'm not wrong. Also thought about the Mitsu VR4 turbo, what about it? Maybe too small? I dunno. I thought about it 'cause I think It'll have great spool up (one of the things I'm REALLY looking for, I don't want a drag queen, or peak power, I really want a good powerband) and it's easier for me to get it.

For someone who is on such a tight budget, definietly look into homemadeturbo.com. And talk to beerbongskickass here on honda-tech - he is making incredible power on a minimal setup.

Go with Vitara pistons and Scat rods....better yet go with Scat rods and some generic forged pistons. Try ebay...it can be your friend.
You should be pushing 160-170whp and 150-165lb-tq at 8psi.
TD04 is a pretty small turbo. You have to remember that the smaller the turbo the lower your output whp and lb-tq will be.
I say go for at least a straight T3 or maybe even the bigger td05 16g.

Thanks again for your replies. I thought about Vitara pistons but I wasn't thinking of buying pistons (unless the block I get forced me to, to straight up the cylinders) 'cause I already got a set of P2E and another set of PM3 here in my hands, stock bore both of them. I've not decided which set to use, any recomendation?

PD: I don't know what rods are those "scat" rods, but I'll use LS rods, I have a set here and I think that'll be more than enough for a long time.

I also thought about the KKK 03 turbo. The one that comes in the Audi A3. Something to say? Maybe too small?

I really want a good spooling up setup, and a good power band, I'm not really looking for peak power.
