i was just about to say that. any camera, even a 1 megapixel, can take awesome macro shots. the best camera phots are the ones from a distance, like the ones on dtmpower.net or jtuned.com

my ****** camera phone could do comparable macros

its more on the lens than the camera. and for a 9,000 camera, that doesnt look very sharp.

surfrider Thanks for shitting on my thread.
If i would've wanted comparisons to professional photographers i would've asked. I know i ask for opinions but i never seen you do any photoshoots!!!

In the pictures i posted, im surprised to have the more knowledgeable guys (midorigreen & ebelp) call them macro shots. There's probably one in there. The other shots are just the result of a large aperture and focus. That's the way the camera does it.

Any way guys don't worry, these were just my first shots. Many more photoshoots to come this summer and for the others

Nice pickup man. I got one not too long ago too, but the first thing I did was not go out and shoot macro shots haha. I actually shot some cool scenery pix0rz.
