Seized rear caliper pin. How to break it loose?
I've read others who have had this prob in other forums, but instead of ressurecting old topics, I figured I'd post here. My passanger rear caliper pin is seized.
on me for not trying to lube it earlier on. It's pin A (part 17 below:

I read you can take the clapper bracket off and heat it with a propane torch and break the pin loose then. Is this my best bet? Looking online, it doesn't seem that I can just by the bracket and I don't want to shell out for a new caliperDoes Autozone, PepBoyz etc carry the pins and/or caliper bracket or refurbished calipers for itrs? Looking online it didn't seem so. Anyways, what's the best bet: torching it or trying to buy a refurbished caliper. Anyone else ever run into this?

I would say try pb blaster and let it sit for a bit. Then try it.. If that doesn't work, then break out the blow torch and try it. If that doesn't work, then think about aftermarket calipers if you can afford them, or an OEM refurbished caliper.

pbblaster wont do ****, and dont use heat...unless you want to melt the boots.
after you unseize the pin, take it out, clean it and lube it up real good.

u dont touch the boots, heat up the bracket itself, unless ur really retarded. even if u did ruin the boots, its like 5bucks to replace
