Default Newbie chick to crx

Alright boys! Have a 91 HF that I'm going to do a d16z6 swap into (and yea i know its just a 1.6L single overhead cam vtech) but I still have some questions and I suck at this forum stuff!
Okay, so do I need new front axles/hubs/brakes and what can I do that is bolt on that will increase ponies? Also, if I decided to go forced induction, do i supercharge or turbo? Is the HF tranny going to be worth keeping ( i know it's long geared) or should I get an SI tranny? Have short shifter I'm going to install.
Also, is runnin H&R race springs okay with stock shocks and struts and do I need a camber kit?
Thanks guys!

you can use stock since your gonna be using another d series tranny , do bolt ons such as header , exhaust , and Cold air intakes for added ponies.

Ps. Girls with crx's are sexy

My information on this subject will be more accurate if you post pics of you and your car. Or just you.

like the other guy said, you can use your axles, hubs, and brakes.
a supercharger doesn't have any lag but doesn't have as much hp potential as turbo. So it depends what your horsepower goal is before you can decide which is better.

I like my HF Tranny...it's good with the Engine it's mated to.
Too bad Hondas have 0 Torque, cause that transmission is REALLY good at keeping your RPMs down, which would be awesome if you had a low-end Torque monster...[sigh]
I'd love to make a fast car which utilizes that transmission, but Honda goes HIGH RPM and low torque, so the Faster/higher you Rev, the better

And on the Axles, I was under the impression that because of the # of splines on the HFs Axles, that the axles ARE NOT interchangable with the other CRXs. When I swapped out my axles, it sucked, cause I had to get the "special" axles (On a side note, Honda doesn't reman HF Axles ), as most EVERY other axle was interchangeable, just not mine...
Otherwise, SWEET JESUS! But that I'd look into, cause I swear the HF has a different # of splines, and so you can only use HF axles in the HF tranny...

Love For The Crx's,
Welcome to the site, The d16z6 isnt a bad first swap to do at all, i dont recommend it being that its an obd1 motor however it can still be done with a few simple tasks.
The HF Transmission really isnt good for anything, its not very strong at all and the long gears will not benefit much in your higher gears once your boosted. The hf knuckles need to be swapped for dx 5 spd or Si knuckles
hope that helps

I would throw together a homemade turbo kit for like $1000, don't go fully ghetto but buy some nice bling options while you are making the kit. That z6 boosted at like 7-8 psi would be fun to scoot around in.

P.S. Source a Si tranny, much better than the HF, can be had fairly cheap too

Ive had Tokico Illumina on my rex for about 2 years. 5-way adj is plenty if you're gonna be using your car as a dd. I got the shocks + springs package and I think it was around 400 on ebay.. prolly best 400 bux I ever spent on my car.

Turbo is way cheaper than supercharger, and you can set your engine's character easily with diffrent turbo setups. And ofcourse, turbo is more efficient.

I think you can keep, it. But you should get some other tranny, long ratios suck. In torqueless hondas mostly. :D

The hf knuckles can stay if your using another d series tranny, you only have to change when you go b series .... if you dont know your facts , please do not post.
