i think the antenna is connected to the roof with black plastic cover thing that screws onto the roof, so im guessing u just unscrew that and bondo over it to plug up the hole

yeah, i got that far, but it seems to be pop riveted or something. i tried this a while ago, and i couldn't get it figured out without breaking something, and i got pissed at it. i just remebered about it and thought i'd see if anyone here knows how to do it the right way. thanks though

no, i'm talking about after i get the screws out and then you pull it away from the car a bit and then its pop riveted or something. i tried to pry it apart, but didn't work, so i stopped cause i thought i'd break something

ihate to say such a stupid thing but it might work. did u unplug it from the radio? is it free to come out from the hole under the dash on the kick panal?

u might wana put a string on that just incase u ever wana put it back. it is a real bitch to get back in without that.

Remove the 2 screws from the cover on the roof( you can use a torx bit, but also has a slit for a flathead screwdriver). Unplug it from the radio and undo where its ran under the dash, all the way to the A-pillar.

If the cover plate on the roof is riveted on, take a small drill bit and drill the center out. That should undo the rivet.

Good Luck.

I think the part where you're getting confused is that you're trying to only take part of the antenna out. like was stated above, it all comes out as one piece including the entire coax cable all the way to the radio itself.

and, as said above, definately tie a string to the antenna cable before pulling it up through so you have something to pull the new antenna cable back down with!!

i just did mine... its easy to take out/install... when taking it out, tie/tape a peice of rope at the end of the antena, then feed it out the whole w/ the string attached..., & then to install, just do the reverse...walla

thanks for all the replies, i never knew i'd get all this. i didn't want to take out the whole damn thing, so that sucks. i just wanted to seperate it from the car for the paint. but, you gotta do what you gotta do. thanks again to everyone that replied, except the people that told me how to unscrew it. i was born at night, but not last night, lol. seriously though, thanks for the help. if anyone knows how to take the it apart without pulling the whole thing out, let me know.

Might be a little hard to see in this pic, but you just need to pull it up about 3" and then mask it off...
