broken T belt..
well my car saw boost for about an hr or so..top of second about to go in to third..i hear a loud bang/pop noise..no metal on meatl sound..who thinks i took out the head?
If you havent inspected it yet, just hope that a broken timing belt is the least of your problems. A broken rod or busted block wouldnt be outta the question.

mine broke in a d16z6, just the tranny popping out of gear, i didn't hear any other noise. did a compression test, cyl. 2/4 had no compression at all. put another belt on there, set it all up, do a compression test and that'll tell you. or if you don't wanna risk breaking more and have the time, take it apart.
you can do a leak down test to determine if you bent any valves ,,,or take valve cover off put each cylinder at top dead and feel free play in rocker arms ,or you can put belt in start it up and see if engine misses

that sucks.good reason to spend a little money on maintenance before starting to modify your motor.

OMG are u serious, those valves have to be perfect to work properly any dent or bent and they are useless... hitting them with a hammer woas't the best idea, thats why it ran only 6 more months

yes in a nut shell. i was dumping exaust in my motor compartment.because my ghato *** DP fell off.[it was a temp] boosted 10 psi in 3rd and guessing it was the hot contamanated intake charge that caused detanation and well the rest is hystroy ..just liek the motor.
Put the car up, take a bar to the crank pully, and try to turn the motor yourself, feeling for resistance. Also, take off the valve cover and do the color test.
(Sorry, I have to say this.)
