Alright guys haven problems. Im about to buy a 93' EG and start a build up. I have the knowledge, not the location. Can i do everything off of jackstands and basic tools? (pull motor, race supension, prep and paint) I'm having doubts that I can pull it off, i need some reassurance. Anyone?

Tools are made for a reason. You can do it right, but without the proper tools, I don't see it happening.

If you live at a house then you have no problem doing everything yourself. If you live in an appartment its a little different due to landlord and space.

All i started with was some random old tools from 1950. When i had enough money i bought my own tools. Just take your time.

I've heard of people doing swaps in their apartment parking lots so assuming you have a garage I think you should be fine.

So you just hand lifted the engine out of the engine bay? That must have been pretty awkward. It's good to be strong!

no i'm pretty sure they lowered teh car as much *** possible, dropped the engine out
then lifted it and slid it out. thats what we did at least. you dont need an engine crane

no man Honda & acura u drop engine & trans togetther out the bottom
thats the fastest & easiest way

jack up front of car very high & put it on jack stands & drop it from bottom
keep a 2 or 3 ton jack with a donut on it raised up under the eng & trans so it doesnt fall & let it down slooooow.
if u know wat u doin u can get engine & trans out in 20 min

put new eng & trans under then let car down on top of it slowly
usually this is the part that takes the longest

Ive never taken out a honda or Acura engine out from the top, but then ive never taken out just the engine alone always engine & trans 2gether its a lot quicker

Many people do it just like that. I've seen many people here in NYC, which there isn't that many garages around, just do it in their alley or on the street right on jackstands, pulling engines, etc...etc...etc...

It just takes will power, and don't get caught if you're not supposed to do it.

i would say air tools are a must, pulling the engine shouldnt be to hard if u have an engine lifter, ive seen many many people take engines out without a lift
