Default gauge cluster

i think there's some electrical problem with my del sol.

i notice when both my doors are open, there are no indicators on the gauge cluster that tells me my doors are open or they do not light up. but for everything else like the targa being unlocked, trunk, and rear window being open... the lights on the gauge work fine.

i've never paid much attention to a Del Sol-do they even have indicators for that?i know the Civics don't.if they do,check the pinswitches on the doors to see if they're broken or unhooked.does your dome light come on when the doors open?

yes... my dome light turns on when my doors open but the red light (on the gauge indicator) next to the door does not. i'm not sure if it does... just checking because the autobody might have screwed my electrical up.

what did they do to your car?did they work before?if the cluster does have indicators for the doors,i'd check the pinswitches and wiring.

Years ago I had this problem on an 88 prelude. It seemed like the dome light was turned on via a different switch than the door open warning tale-tell light. Look near the hinge on the door and see if there is a switch that is pushed in (or somehow closed) when the door is shut. Push it in with your finger and see if you can get the light on the cluster to go off. The problem with the prelude was that the switch was going bad and I could make the light on the cluster go off when I activated the switch by hand, but not when the door was closed. You may just need to replace the switch. I doubt its a serious electrical problem.

Hope this helps.

there isn't any indicator for a del sol to show the doors are lit. There are only leds for the trunk, targa, rear window.
