Cusco 6 point cage
i'm not sure if this is the right place to ask? anyways i have a 99 EM1 with a heavily modified suspension. i'm buying a 6point Cusco roll cage. i was not sure if i have to modify any parts of the cage. some one from here had one for sale a while ago and had to cut of a couple of inches to fit the coupe. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks
Don't by a cusco cage they are overpiriced junk and not approved for most sancitoning boides for racing or hpde, look into a autopower or a kirk roll cage if you are serious about getting a cage, and they will make one that will fit without cutting the cage.
You should not need to mod your suspension at all unless the cage makes the car stiff enough to change how it reacts when driving.

As he said, if it's not too late, don't get it. Total waste of money, unless you're just showing the car, in which case you could get a "monkey barz" setup for much cheaper.
thanks, i have not bought the cage yet, do you guys have a site i could go to for other cages? i'm looking at the $500-$700 range, thanks
http://www.kirkracing.com/
http://www.ioportracing.com (for Autopower bars/cages)
Truerace (PM user JoesTypeS for info, this is the rollbar I have and I love it)
And of those will fall in your price range.

yep..don't buy a cusco cage...rather flimsy in a way.. i have one, and i wish i woulda gotten an autopower or kirk, but it's too late.. just gonna leave the cage in there until i get really serious with the car, then take it out, sell it, and get a weld in..
i have a kirk roll cage in my car and i love it.
not to pricey either.
however the paint job on the kirk cage is a bit crapy,so you might want touch it up a bit with some flat black, other than that it does its job nicely.
