Default i have a porblem but its not with a honda!

whats up guys. i have a problem with my friends bmw 325is. whenever he drives its starts making a clicking noise in the back.(where the back wheels are). it only does it when it is in gear. when he pushes in the clutch it goes away. also if he is just rolling in neutral. it goes away sometimes but then it just comes back. i didnt know where to post this so if its in the wrong place then move it. i have no idea what i could be. could it be the differential??? i need help please.

could be numerous things, might be the cv axles if it's a constant clicking

if it's just when shifting it could be his rear-subframe tearing out (big problem on E36 BMWs)

could be a wheel bearing.

Make sure the wheels are on tight too.
