Default New to Honda-tech =)

Hey i just joined up with honda-tech through a few friends of mine and found some interesting stuff

i have an 89 Civic 4dr DX

I was just wondering who has gotten their b16a swap done in their EF?
How much did it cost all together (us or cdn dollars)
how much extra stuff was needed
and how did you fix the mount problem and hood problem thanx

welcome fellow newbie and GTA enthusiast, his page will help u
find the info u need to do any swap....ask the right Q's use the search,
and have fun, good luck...
how did you fix the mount problem
buy a mount kit or have a butcher weld some in..
at the expense of broken mounts and broken axles...
very very few places have a good reputation around the GTA for
good swaps...

hood problem
what hood problem..???!!!
you dont even have your motor in yet, so any stories youve heard
about hood ""modifications"" is due to above ""butchers welding in mounts""

hth

hey giuseppe

lots of us 4th gens in GTA
but no one with a 4th gen sedan planning to swap

i've got most of it planned out but the whole mount thing is freaking me out
i don't wanna buy freaking hasports mount kit/harness for 800 cdn that's just INSANE

My friend just recently did a b16a3 swap into his i think 95 delsol and he said his mounts were all wrong but it's all in it now the engine is running fine but some minor problems..

the engine i'm getting is probably coming with harness, cut axles at the firewall, tranny and what else i can't remember and since lots of sites have said that it doesn't "bolt-in" EF b16a

and besides my friend says that his swap was probably harder to do then mine will be soo he'll do my swap for me of coarse i'll help

The search option sorta sucks on this board! Not meaning to be a ***. I mean its free and a great site. I just cant ever find anything using the search button. maybe it just me though.

dont kid yourself, there have been a few, past and present..

thats exactly what i said, and look how i spent 800.!!lol think of it this way, u do the sway, u get a really good set of mounts for free...(i guess)
better than paying somone else to do the swap for u...and no broken axles, tow trucks, headaches, nor bullsh/t...at least get "A" mount kit,
My friend just recently did a b16a3 swap into his i think 95 delsol and he said his mounts were all wrong but it's all in it now the engine is running fine but some minor problems..
topher..??? hes been here asking for info too..

good luck..!!!..
