Can someone help me?
i've got a prelude swapped from an si to a jdm h22--my ecu is a p13 and im not throwin any codes. here are my issues:
1. the car won't rev past 6500 anytime
2. the vtec doesn't work and if it does it's not workin well enough for me to feel it.
3. i get black smoke out of the exhaust which i think is gas related, but im not sure.
4. the car really isn't running as strong as it should be at all, even without the vtec i think it should be faster.
could it be the timing, head gasket, or what? the 6500 rev problem is my main problem but any help would be appreciated. thanx

my cel light is fine cause it's been reading for a few codes but i fixed em all. i'm still using the si wiring harness but i don't think that has anything to do with it.

This man's right. Clear all codes, go drive, see how it acts and check for new codes. Let us know the codes if it throws any.
Cel lights.....yup, there's nothing like going to troubleshoot your new motor you just got running and spending way too much time trying to figure out what would make it run bad without throwing a code.........just to find out someone who worked on your car before you bought it decided to remove the CEL light bulb instead of fixing a problem.
