Jet Kit?
Ok i was think about putting a stage 3 jet kit in my 96 Honda cbr 600 F3. Does anyone know what i should expect from this if I do it. Will I be able to run with bigger bikes?
do u have an exhaust? jetting only changes the air to fuel ratios, ur not going to gain huge amounts of power, only smooth out ur power band and make the bike run correctly if its running rich or lean etc etc.....
Expect a noticeable decline in your low/midrange power, and a noticeable increase in your top end. On a stock exhaust the differences will be much less than if you went with a full exhaust.
IMHO, spend the money on a sprocket set and a new chain. It won't move your power band around and will make the bike quicker everywhere. +3 in the back or -1 in the front would make a big difference.

Waste of money without a pipe and some dyno time, then perhaps still a waste of money. Go get some track time instead.

true that....... NOTE ABOUT GEARING..... increase in acceleration = decrease in top end..... my 954 is up 2 in the rear... i top out at 157.9 now, DYNO indicated...... prior to gearing, 170 was the top end.... ill never see 150 so i didnt see the point in having an extra 15 mph.... to each their own... but ask ur self how often do u go 150? how often do u go on the expressway, 1 tooth down in the front = about 2-3 teeth up in the back, with each increment at about 60 mph in top gear you are up about 1k rpms.... on my 600, its MUCH louder and abusive to my bike....... just think when ur at 80 in top gear doing a long distance trip ur bike is at a constant 9k rpms (600) or like 6 k on the 954......
just some food for thought, without a full system dont bother jetting it

If the muffler was not set-uyp on a dyno then its probably doing more harm than good.

stage 3 is overkill, unless its a track bike. k&n filter, exhaust, and stage 1 kit will be about all you are going to want to do for street...you can always add an ingition advancer and gearing (or fuel commander ) regardless, you are going to want to tune it up. good luck.

If i do this any idea on what kind of bikes i should be able to run with?

My 250 has run with 1000's its not about sheer power

What brand jet kit is it? Are you sure it is a stage 3? Stage 3 uses individual filters for each carb. It must be a tight fit under the tank.
The most common is a stage 1 for f3s. With proper tuning expect 3-7hp max. It is dependant on your mods, and it will only enhance existing mods by adjusting the air/fuel ratio so that your bike is tuned properly.
IF it is not done by an experienced tuner you can and may actually loose power. For f3's you can do a few things full exhaust, ignition advancer, jet kit (if tuned properly) gearing, but you arent going to be beating hayabusa's or anything. F3's had in the upper 80hp. You could get in the 90's with a little work but dont expect to be running with 900 or greater. I have extensive work on my f3 and it will run with 750's all day long.
Oh yeah and stick with the stock air filter. F3's will actually loose power if you install a k&n.
