Default Replacement axles from raxles.com

my cv joints were long gone and axles were overdue for a replacement.

i didn't want to autozone it because i keep hearing too many people say the lifetime seems cool until start crapping out every 10000 miles. And i hate dealing with those monkies behind the autoparts counter and being charged a core charge.

oem is too much money.

so my buddy matt told me to give http://www.raxles.com a try. i think i also saw a link on ht. i spoke to marty. he was very personable and a pleasant person to deal with. he even remembered what car i drove and where i lived when i had a friend call to inquire about axles for his car.... and he was surprised how reasonable the prices and is getting a set. he was like, "dude, i'm definitely getting my axles from him too." for his 3g eclipse.

here are some pics. btw, no core charge, unless you don't send yours back, the math was 120 a side and 34 for shipping. raxles includes a prepaid ups sticker to tag on the box for return shipping and even had a map printed off mapquest to the nearest ups location.

anyway here are the pics of raxles axles and the packaging it comes in case someone was interested in ordering a set from them. topnotch product, fast 3-4 day delivery, nicely thought out and packaging and excellent customer service. the boxes on the indivudual axles themselves had my name on them too... kinda cool. and the axles are labelled left and right to make it idiot-proof.

are those brand new or rebuilt? If they rebuilt, then u got ripped. 60-80 bucks is about right for a rebuilt axle. But i will admit those raxles look preety good though

So as you need to send the old ones back are they a rebuild?? Or could they be a part new part used type deal?

60-80 get you the sutozone crappy ones, the ones you will have to replace in a few monthes untill you find a "good" one

I have lifetime Autozone axles. What a bunch of crap, went thru 3 driver's side axles in less than 2 years, and only one of the three didn't click immediately after install. They must have a real crappy remanufacturer.

Raxles on the other hand do a quality rebuild (at least that is what I have gathered on several forums, not just replacing the boot and stuffing in lube.

BTW, what is the warranty on the Raxles?

note: I have changed my axle so many times, I can do it in about 30 minutes, with hand tools.

Read through there web-site. They use new outter joint, not regrinds, and good quality boot. And they are lifetime warrenty. If they are going to last more than a few monthes then i think the extra money is well worth it.

i think that is the general consensus. but will those $60-80 ones last as long as the ones from autozone?

exactly. i wanted to avoid this.

i'm glad i went through raxles. i feel it is money well spent. if you feel this way and are considering a set, those pics and this post is for you.

if you're retarded really don't think there is any value to spending extra for these, just buy your $60 axles and have fun replacing them when they break.

Exactly. I did the same thing you did. I was having axle issues after a drag strip session and I called up Marty and got the axles and a new halfshaft from him. The quality was excellent and there was no way in hell I was putting lifetime warranty axles in it. Install was great, and I didn't even have to send my old ones back, I just bought them straight up. Well I ended up snapping the passenger one at the track, and they sent me a replacement no problem. I then shipped the broken one back so they could see what broke and hopefully make improvements. So Raxles gets a from me for slightly better than OEM axles at a great price.

As posted above Marty's axles are far superior than the rebuilt CCT axles at Autozone, Pep boys, etc. The rebuilt axles from these stores have questionable workmanship and give people problems all the time.

I was going to buy axles from Marty, but I went with new GCK axles from Autozone. They were about $110/axle and they have a lifetime warranty.
