Default p&p b16 or gsr head, which flows better?

I have a turbo lsvtec. I'm rebuilding my motor. I have an extra b16 and gsr head. I've searched and got confused. If both are P&P which head will flow better, or does it even matter since it's going to be P&P? Also will the gsr head raise the compression?

I'm pretty sure the GSR head will yield higher compression. As for which one "flows better," that is a debate that may never be ended.

^B16 flows better. I have a GSR head right now, but my motor originally came with an B16. My friend wanted it, so I sold it. Future plans are...running ITR head.

Though the moving components are different, flow-wise the ITR head is a B16 head with a mild hand polish. Yes, it is hotly debated, but I come from the "B16 flows slightly better" school. With a full p&p, I would def go with the B16.

As said, the GSR head will yeild slightly higher compression, but since you are turboed, that doesn't offer an advantage. Also, the GSR IM (if you used it) would require additional wiring and the use of a different ECU to run the IABs.

You want the B16.

b16 and we can argue all day about it but when you put them both on a flow bench the b16 wins. Here is a article by alaniz which use to have a flow bench chart showing the b16 out perform the gsr head. Both were done stock and with competition headwork and the b16 wins both times. http://www.alaniztechnologies.....html
