Cheapest Way to Ship Wheels?
Firstly, I apologize (mods) for the double post, but I think that this would benefit all Integra owners, hence the double post. Now that I hopefully got that out of the way, I have a dilemma right now. I'm getting some wheels sent in the upcoming days and the quote the seller got was around $150-200 for all 4. Yuck! If anyone has any experience or knows of the cheapest way to ship rims please please post it. This is the first time I've dealt with something like this, so individual boxes, etc, etc, UPS, FedEX, etc, HELP!
Thanks in advance.

Cheapest way in my experience would be United States Post Office, but then things such as tracking and insurance come at an extra cost compared to UPS or FedEx. I believe that you have to use individual boxed using USPS since they will not fit regulated sizes. But you can stack two wheels together using UPS or FedEx.
Best bet would be to just the cost calculator on UPS, USPS, and FedEx.

Places like Tire Rack usually ship wheels/tires by strapping circular pieces of cardboard to the sides of the wheels, and they can ship them without boxes.
If they are only wheels (not tires) they usually come in boxes that are the right size.
You should be able to ship a set of four wheels/tires (mounted, obviously) anywhere in the country for around $80 or so, assuming you pack them up yourself and take them to the UPS or FedEx customer counter. Wheels only should be maybe half that amount. Perhaps you're getting a higher quote because you're dealing with a store like Mail Boxes USA that charges you extra for the packing, and puts a surcharge on top of the FedEx or UPS charges.
BTW FedEx now has ground service that is similar in price to UPS, and they have a lot more customer counters than UPS. So check into both of them. They have websites (with the obvious URL's) where you can check rates, locate manned customer counters, etc.
The post office is generally not cost effective for shipping large items, but they have a website too http://www.usps.com

When I bought mine, I looked at all the sites- fedex, ups, usps, etc. The cheapest way I found was fedex pickup at your house. It is cheaper for some reason than if you drop em off there.
my wheels/tires were shipped FL to OH and were 20.00 each (Rim with tire mounted) , UPS, std ground. He took them to ythe drop off site.
