Do i need new gaskets or what?
Ive started my boost project today and ive realised ive got no god damn oil pan gasket and exhaust manifold gasket. Is it vital that I replace with new or is there any chance i can use the exsisting ones, i dont realy want to cut corners but im not arsed if its not important coz those things r damn expensive in the uk, about $70 for the mani gasket and $60 for the oil pan gasket. Also the main dealer told me that the oil pan one might be rubber on the b16a2 so i could get away without replacing it. What you guys think?
i never replace exhaust mani gaskets, if they are in good shape.. i've used the same one on 4 engines... and its always in the same shape (perfect)
oil pan gaskets usually are replaced, but i dont do it, if they are in good shape...i just de-grease them and smear a light coat of RTV sealant all across them....and i've never had a leak. done this a few times too. you dont wanna smear too much rtv on them, and DONT over-tighten them....but you can re-use them. i've done fine doing that.

Cool man! its gonna be the first time the mani and the pan have come off the car, I cant believe that mani ones are that durable. The cars done 120,000 miles hopefully they will be in good shape. 4 cars that ***** crazy
