K20A3 vs K20A2 Heads
What is the difference in the head design between the A2 and A3s. I have an EP3 I plan on swapping cams and valvetrain. I know the A3 is only VTC, but can it be converted to a VTEC setup with the proper cams and parts? Or is it just better to find a A2 head and do the upgrades?
There are no aftermarket cams for the A3, so don't bother.
The A2 head has the 3 lobe camshafts (intake and exhaust vtec) versus the 2 lobes on the A3 (just intake vtec), has better valves and valve springs, and it breathes a hell of a lot easier, too... which is important if you plan on making major levels of boost.
