Default jumping tach

my 95 ex v6 runs pretty much fine but when i drive for like 15 or more minutes the tach being to jump around like nuts. Not to mention it is running very high. It also kind of makes the car like pause when accelerating I have found out that it might be the ignition coil that is causing both of these problems. I dont really have the money to buy a new one unless its nessessary so do i do damage to my car by not replacing the part. Also is there anything else it could be? any help is is great. Thanks

I had changed my ignitor a few months ago and everything was fine, and now it has been jumping all over the place for a month. I finally stumbled on this thread that suggested to change the ignitor. My problem was a couple of somewhat loose conections on the ignitor. I had allready changed the coil as some suggest, but that didn't do any good. this solved the problem. Thanks for the help.
