i have 3 basic bolt on. is it necessary to get fuel regulator & fuel pressure gauge.
how i suppose to know if my fuel delivery fuel isnt too lean. or get it for the future

for the fuel pressure gauge, do i just bolt it on the fuel pump and start my engine to see how many psi to adjust in my regulator. or it dosnt work that way.

it is always helpful if you explain your set-up, but i would assume that your "3 basic bolt-ons" are the same three that everyone considers the basics; intake, header, and exhaust. if this is the case, then your stock fuel pressure will be adequate. it would be a wise investment for the future of you plan on going any further, though.

 

Yes, it works in the manner you stated assuming you have an aftermarket adjustable fuel pressure regulator. Are you running any leaner than normal though?? Although it is not the most accurate method, you would still be wise to buy an air/fuel guage. Their cheap and useful if you are doing anything regarding engine performance. Don't blindly start adjusting the PSI of the system. Get the air/fuel guage to get an idea of where you are at. Much better than that would be to dyno you car with a wise band 02 sensor (Lambda meter). Although probably not necessary at this point for you, this is the diffinitive way to see your air/fuel ratio over the entire RPM band.

 

after the basic bolt ons..intake, headers and exhaust its common for a motor to run a bit lean..try using a mid octane gas instead of regular

 

Ok, what are you basing this on??

since when is the answer to running lean using higher octance gasoline?

 

how i suppose to know how much psi i need to adjust if i needed to. do i just adjust any psi above 44 psi stock.
the gauge just tell me how much psi im running right.

personal experience and not wanting to spend more money than necessary

 

a lower octane fuel burns quicker resulting in a lean burn when the air flow is increased

 

go for it . it good when go to the dyno. soyou can tune it in a little better. good luck

 

You don't hook the gauge up to the fuel pump. The fuel pump is in the tank. You hook the gauge up at the fuel filter.
