Default Should I upgrade my Exhaust Housing?

I got a RH kit.... it came with a gt30R dual ballbearing with a .48 exh housing... my friend is telling me the reason why my turbo is spooling so fast is because my exhaust housing is small.. it is rated only at .48ar..... will it make a different if i change it to .61ar.... do you think its worth it to change it....how will it effect my performance and will it lag?

By a general rule, the a/r is a trade-off. The smaller a/r tends to spool faster and the power levels off earlier. By the same token, the larger a/r spools later and usually will carry the power higher than most stock valvetrain cars rev. I'm not really sure what you're asking. Most of us end up with mods to help our turbos spool.

Is it worth it to change my exhaust housing.... what can i expect if i change it to .60ar compare to .48ar on HP and torque...? I Just dont want to be dissapointed if i get it tune with this setup and found out i am making less horse because of my small exhaust housing...i think it is suppose to come with a bigger air ratio but i found out too late to exchange...

If you have traction problems shifting the power band up with bigger turbine housing will make you faster by improving traction and potentially making bigger peak #s. .63 a/r is probably what your next biggest size is btw. What motor is this.

You can get the housings pretty cheap. Get it, put it on and find out for yourself. Some turbo's I keep 4-5 different housings for 2-3 wheels per housing!
