just bought i first ED8 a few weeks back, and dont know much about exterior differences. actually searched and found a link, http://www.cr-x.org/home/differences/exterior.html

i dont know if it's just me or what but from looking at the pics i see no differences between headlights and corner lights. and for some reason i dont quite understand what the text is saying. probably 'cause it's late and im tried

anyways my corner light seem to extend further than the headlight. so my question is, are 88-89 and 90-91 headlights/cornerlights the same or no? do they mount differently or what? im guessing but jdm headlights/corners are different from usdm too right? and what about uk?

 

Headlights yes. Corners no.

 

i bought halo lights for my crx off ebay and they said 90-91 and i bought corners off there too for 88-91 and the little arm on the corner hits the headlight bracket. i cut it off and taped that **** on with clear tape. LOL! i cruze ghetto like that. LOL! i think they are different

the 88/89 and 90/91 headlights might be the same, but the metal mounting brackets on them are not.

And the corners are different also.

 

I have an 89 headlight on my 91 They all say HB4 on the outside and HB3 on the inside of them. 4dr and Hatch ones may fit as well. Yours probably fit like crap because you bought cheap POSs made by some 8 year old kid in Taiwan.

Wrong. Mine fit correctly. When My car was stolen they tried to steal the headlights and gave up because the theives were pathetic retards and all they did was break the plastic housing and bend the metal bracket. So I made my way down to my local pull and save where they have 3 88-89 crxs and I pulled off the headlight. It fits. Metal bracket and all.

No, 88-89 corners bolt on from the outside, 90-91 slide into a plastic tab and have a small screw holding them in on the inside inbetween the corner and headlight

so either corner will fit?

 

It's hard to tell from the pic whether the corners or protruding or if the headlights and recessed but there there is on of two things happening. Your car was in an accident so your headlights are out of alignment and thats why they're sunken in, or your corner lights are just crap and that why they protrude. Since the corners are aftermaket I'm going to have to say that they're the culprit. Just search for some oem 88-89 corners and that should help out. If that's not the problem your car was probably in an accident and your radiator support was pushed back.

 

i can get better pics up by monday if that'll help. im not sure if they're aftermarket or not, the guy i bought it off didn't know much about it. he told me it was a HF, first time i saw a HF with dual port injection

 

i'll check on this tomorrow because i have all of the parts around here. I have 88/89 corners and 90/91 headlights though and it doesn't work from what i remember but i might not of tried that hard... Maybe it only works the other way?

88 and 89 corners two screws on outside (looks like junk imo) 90 91 one screw on onside
haeadlights are the same, cept 90 and 91s have vents in them to let moisture out

okay, after looking at my corners/headlights on my HF there is no way that 88-89 corners will work with 90-91 headlights. I'll get pictures tomorrow and look at my 90-91 headlights.

 

the 88-89 headlights have two tabs that hold the corner light on place, while the 90-91 have none and rely on a screw on top to hold it in.
you can use 88-89 headlights on a 90-91 and make the screw work but the 88-89 cannot use the 90-91 headlight FRAME since it doesn't have the tabs that hold the corner light

You have it reversed. 88-89 have the screws on the outside. 90-91 have the tabs and hidden screw.
