i think it might be an axel. is it thumping or anything or what? i had an axel go bad and not click or anything then it took out my wheel bearing and it did that. it sucked ***. check the cv boots and jack up the car and see if u can shake the axel at all. if u can that means ur bearing is bad. good luck

Either a loose wheel or an old cracked bushing finally gave up and crumbled. Jack the car up and take a look. Wiggle the suspension around. If it's swaying and shaking that bad I'm sure the problem will become obvious if you crawl under there and take a look.

Yeah don't race it man. You probably shouldn't even really be driving it around if its that bad. Get your friend to get off his *** and help you out. Depending on what's wrong you could end up doing some damage if you keep driving it like that and end up eating the cost on replacement parts.

If your buddy just put a clutch in then it started it can only be a few things. Check the tighness of the bolts on the LOWER BALLJOINT 17mm (most Likely), STRUT FORK 17mm and AXLE 32mm. If your clutch buddy knows what he is doin he wouldnt have taken off anything else but those nuts/bolts. And if that itsnt it try an alignment. I personally think its the lower ball joint not being tightened the whole way just because when we push a car out of the garage while waiting for a sawp, ill put the suspension together half assed just to keep track of the bolts so there close at hand for the swap install, and when we push the cars out both wheels wobble from the lower ball joint 17 castle nut not being tight.

Just give everyting a good once over, I'm sure you'll find the problem. Pay special attention to the axle, tie rod end and lower ball joint.

when was the last time the alignment was checked? wheels balanced? lugs tight?

did this start suddenly? hit anything?

axle would be after answering all those questions.

if it drove fine before the clutch, and vibrated right after, it's prolly not alignment. the things you take off that could make your wheels vibrate are:

wheels - not tightened correctly, knocked off a balancing weight.
axles- installation error only, assuming the worked correctly before the clutch.
suspension- installation error only, as you shouldn't be screwing with alignment with the things you need to take off to pull the axles

clutch installation error being interpreted incorrectly as wheel vibration.

in any case, i'd make sure all the suspension was tightened correctly (ball joints was a good suggestion, as they are easy to leave loose in the driveway w/out air tools) and then get it aligned since you never have, and it is possible your buddy did something funny during the install.

anything i'm forgetting?
