Spring size and length quation, also rate question.
hey guys, I have a few questions for you. I have a 91 CRX Si and as of now it is riding on these neuspeed "race" progressive spings, and by "race" they really mean "lowers the car a shitload and does nothing for body roll" While i suppose I have nothing against the "slammed" look, it does handle like **** and there is also the problem of passing a MA inspecition. I am relatively certain that it is lowerd more than is allowed, but i wont know for sure until i go tomorrow to get it inspected.
I will be looking for springs regardless but I will know wheter i need to rush by tomorrow.
MY real quation is what size and rate spring you would suggest. I know that the spring is 3 inches wide but I am not sure how tall I should get. I want to raise the car up from where it is now but still make it look a little lowered, I was thinking maybe 1 inch shorter than stock would be great, however I dont know what length the stock springs are.
My second question is what rates you guys would suggest, The shocks are the tokico 5 way adjustables. I was thinking about a 300 lb. front and 350 lb. rear. I am really not all that worried about the stiffness of the springs as i would rather get the performance out of them but obviously I don't want to blow out the shocks. The car is going to be used mostly on the street with a few HPDE's, autocrosses, and track days thrown in, do you think I'm going to stiff? I would love to know your opinions on this. Thanks a lot guys.

Cliff Notes:
-Car handles like ****
-Want new springs
-What diameter and length are stock CRX springs?
-What rate would you suggest if you think 300 fr. 350 r. is too much for tokico 5 way adjustables?

You need some sleeves and perches to go along with your springs. Most of the kits use 2.5" ID springs. You could go with one of those cheap ebay ones, some people do well with those. Or if you like knowing that your aluminum isn't recycled scrap metal, you could go with a ground control kit. 300/350 sounds reasonable.
hmmmm yeah that might be a good idea, i was trying to avoid spending 350 on GC's, why can't I just use regular springs? there anren't any sleeves on the car now
I just noticed these, they would be better than eBay ones I hope and are still pretty cheap, not so sure about the spring rates though

Theres the problem.
Also, the off-brand springs might not be true to their advertised rate.
If you go with springs designed for the OE perches, you don't get to have fun playing with rates. Not to mention the advantages of adjustable ride height.
