Default yokohama slicks sux

I had them for 2 track days and they took a **** at 10-12 psi of air pressure on my sohc crx. size is 20x8x13

Damn that sucks.

Were they rubbing on the inside. Maybe hitting the nuckle when they expanded?

By how that tire came apart, it looks like you overheated it by running the pressure a little too low.

i didn't know yokahoma made drag slicks?!?

you shure those arent track slicks.. then you yould inflate cold around 22-28 psi

How many passes would you say you made in these two days @ the track??

What kind of tires are those?!? I was not aware of Yokohama making a drag slick.

they are a harder slick for road race

They're meant to be run at 30+ psi, and really aren't that great of a drag tire. Road race tires usually take a little while to heat up- not sure if even a good burnout could accomplish this. As Chris stated, 10-12 is much too low for a road race tire.

btw: Yokohama has made many top quality road race tires for years.

Are you sure they werent hitting the inside fender well. THats what it looks like to me.

There is NO WAY a top manufactor would make that sh*tty of a tire. I would send them the pics and write a letter to them.

I still have 2 more , which are already mounted now, trying them out on this weekend at 20 psi cold. and hvt trackbite

Start at 30 or you will suffer the same fate.

That damage is from the tire overheating, NOTHING else.
